Official Rules & Regulations

Thank you for helping The Village Shopping Centre reach over 10,000 Facebook followers! To celebrate this exciting milestone and show our appreciation for your continued support, we are pleased to present the Sweet Thanks 10K Candy Count Giveaway.

Contest Period

The contest runs from April 9, 2026, to April 19, 2026, closing at 11:59 PM.

The prize draw will take place on April 20, 2026, at 1:00 PM.

How to Enter

No purchase necessary. To enter, participants must complete all of the following steps during the contest period:

  1. Go to our Facebook page
  2. Follow The Village Shopping Centre on Facebook
  3. Like and share the contest post
  4. Submit a guess estimating how many candies are in the jar

The candy jar will be on display at The Village Shopping Centre, with a QR code available on-site for easy entry.

Limit one (1) entry per person.

Prizes

  • Ten (10) prizes of $100 The Village Shopping Centre gift certificates
  • Total prize value: $1,000

Winner Selection

  • Winners will be selected by random draw on April 20, 2026
  • If multiple participants submit the correct guess, a random draw will be conducted from correct entries only
  • Winners will be contacted via Facebook Messenger
  • The Village Shopping Centre will never request personal or financial information

Winner Requirements

  • Winners must respond within 48 hours of notification
  • If no response is received, an alternate winner may be selected
  • Prizes must be picked up at The Village Shopping Centre Administration Office
  • Winners must sign a Winner Waiver and Release Form at time of prize collection

Gift Certificate Conditions

  • Gift certificates expire on May 31, 2026
  • Certificates must be used toward the purchase of merchandise
  • No cash value, no change provided
  • Not transferable and not redeemable for cash
  • Cannot be used to purchase retailer gift cards

Eligibility

This promotion is open to residents of Newfoundland and Labrador, aged 18 years or older.

Exclusions:
Employees of The Village Shopping Centre, its tenants, Plaza Group, and their immediate families are not eligible to participate.

By entering this contest, participants consent to the use of their name and/or photograph, without additional compensation, for promotional purposes related to this contest.

Privacy

Any personal information collected will be used solely for the administration of this contest and handled in accordance with The Village Shopping Centre’s privacy practices.
